(introduction)

You're traveling through another dimension -- a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop:

Mud's Magical Podcast, Episode 1 for April 1st, 2011.

(a little about me)

Welcome to the inagural episode of Mud's Magical Podcast, I'm your host Ebben, but you can call me Mud. I got the idea to start a podcast devoted to the topics I love most while I was climbing a mountain. A bush suddenly burst into flames and started rambling something about getting to a gig. Or was I watching Blues Brothers? I don't know, heck that was months ago! Anydoodle, I'm a 28 year old sasquatch living in the beautiful Ozark mountains of southern Missouri. Or as we like to call it, Misery. But I digress. I work nights as a phone jockey at a major wireless provider and spend the rest of my time rubbing my dog's belly. Occaisionally I'll write some code. I've been occaisionally writing code since I was a wee little lad (who likes berries and cream)

But enough about this old chestnut, let's get on with the news!

(end personal)

(begin news section)

(freebasic)

Probably the biggest FreeBASIC related news is:

There is a new experimental branch of the compiler that allows object inheritance using the syntax type MyClass extends BaseClass. At this time it's still a work in progress but, to me, it looks promising. Head on over to the freebasic forums for up to date information. ( http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17571 )

In other news...

(crickets chirp)

I know there has to be SOMETHING else going on. Send me an email or make a post on the Magical forums with your news and I could read it here! If you want to announce it yourself you can send a short (< 1 minute) mp3 or Ogg Vorbis file, (if you need more than a minute email me first and we'll arrange something on skype), to s...@mud.owlbox.net and I'll include it in the next podcast.

(segue into interview with RDC)

And now for something completely different.

I would like, if I may, to take you on a strange journey.

What follows is an interview I recorded with Rick Clark, yes that Rick Clark, a while a go apparently for some kind of radio show on the internets. What happened after that is highly disputed and would require much of your time to explain. Or it could be a recording of two cats playing in a paper bag, I forget. Let's find out together.

(end segue)

(interview with RDC)

I'd like to thank Rick one more time for his great interview, I had a lot of fun. That about wraps it up for today's show. If you have an idea or you'd like to discuss something on the show head on over the My Magical Emporium and click on Mud's Magical Podcast to get involved.
